This photographic overview captures the Oude Kerk’s nave viewed from the south aisle. On the left stands the name and place of residence of the probable photographer: ‘A. Braun à Dornach (Haut-Rhin)’. On the rear side of the photo there is a label that reads ‘Messen- Instrumentmakerij en slijperij Wakker te Amsterdam’, which was probably the supplier. Curators from Amsterdam’s Protestant Church conglomeration have studied this photo and ascertained that it is probably the oldest photograph of the church.
