Hoetger Megan

Megan Hoetger is a performance historian and curator, exhibition maker and hard femme. She received her PhD in performance studies from the University of California, Berkely and did research in many archives affiliated with different organisations, specialising in 'performances of cinema' from the Cold War to today. Since 2019, Hoetger has been curator at the Amsterdam-based performance art organisation If I Can't Dance, I Don't Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution. Together with Kirila Cvetkovska, she forms the Zone Collective (in 2021-22 the collective will be a fellow at BAK, Utrecht) and researches the history of experimental film screenings in the former Yugoslavia. Recently, Hoetger curated Active Archives: Performing Social Realities in Archival Contexts, a performance programme on the social nature of archives at the Whole Life Congress at HKW in Berlin.
