White walls, high pilasters, large windows and small human figures are all included in this painting by Emanuel de Witte . It is a depiction of the Oude Kerk’s interior, viewed diagonally from the St Sebastian Chapel towards the northwest. De Witte is known for sometimes introducing inaccuracies in his work, probably for aesthetic reasons. That is also the case in this painting which is therefore not an architecturally accurate depiction of the church.
