Sint-Sebastiaanskapel

After the construction of the opposite Sint-Joriskapel , founded by the civic guard of the foot archers, the hand archers decided to expand their chapel into a proper counterpart at the north transept . The chapel, built between 1512 and 1517, was named after the patron saint of the hand archers; St Sebastian who committed a martyr's death by being killed with a bow and arrow. On the vault of the chapel, besides a picture and references to St Sebastian, a picture of St Ursula is also painted. She, too, was killed with an arrow according to Christian tradition.
