The Come Closer programme on the roof was kicked off with short stories by various guests and carillon sounds. Jacqueline Grandjean, director of the Oude Kerk, talked about the relationship between church and art and the work of Japanese artist Taturo Atzu: ' The Garden Which Is the Nearest to God '. Three other guests shared a reflection on the city or a hidden story related to the city that the audience could look out over; these were Hans de Zwart (director Bits of Freedom), philosopher Patrick Healy and architect Malkit Shoshan. City carillonneur Gideon Bodden played live on the carillon of the Oude Kerk and talked about the musical instrument.
