Show gallery or Scroll for more

As an urban ecologist, Geert Timmermans knows every bit of nature in Amsterdam and beckons us from the roof of the Oude Kerk to discover the capital's fascinating biodiversity. Amsterdam is bursting with plants and animals: there are over 10,000 species in the city. It is crawling with necklace parakeets, salamanders, and Chinese woolly crabs, even in the city centre. Moreover, every year new animal species are discovered that have never been seen there before or have been gone for a long time. During this presentation, visitors heard about the many animals present in the city and around the Oude Kerk.
