Within the site- and context-specific installation in the Oude Kerk, Marinus Boezem emphasised the open lightness offered by Gothic architecture. Intangible elements such as wind, air and transparency took over the church. The many parts of the installation made ambiguous references to the weight of history on us humans. Boezem approached the idea of the building as a vehicle or conveyor belt that lifts the individual out of his earthly existence - sometimes literally, using the principle of gravity.
