Garden of Scars was an installation that invited you to walk through it. For the public programme surrounding it, speakers from different fields of knowledge walked through the Oude Kerk and discussed questions and thoughts that the work raised for them. Unlike usual museum guides, the “walkers” were thinkers and makers, choosing their own perspective as a starting point. On the 18th of December, visitors were invited to walk with curator Marianna van der Zwaag through Mahama’s installation Garden of Scars. From her own perspective, she reflected on the background and creation of the work.
