Yahmani Blackman (NL, 1989) started as a self-taught theatre maker in various productions. She appeared with self-written pieces at various festivals such as Afrovibes, BlackMagicWoman, Bijlmer Boekt, GoGoGo Festival. She also studied Pedagogy at the HvA and developed a great love for art education. She finally decided to study this further and graduated in 2018 from the Theatre Teacher Training at the Amsterdam University of the Arts. Today she is a teacher in various theatre institutions. In her work, she challenges her surroundings and herself to question, investigate and translate individual and collective frameworks of thought into meaningful art experiences.
