This programme commemorated musician, poet, writer and philosopher Sun Ra (1914-1993), who, in his own unique way, shaped world history to his liking, creating a new mythology for the future. Architect Arna Mačkić , whose thinking and working methods were shaped by Sun Ra, introduced visitors to his inspiring ideas, together with poets Dean Bowen and Gershwin Bonevacia.

This edition of Come Closer was part of a series of four intimate ceremonies during Christian Boltanski's exhibition NA, focusing on impermanence and personal myth-making. How do we remember and how can we forget? How can you shape your legacy? And can you revive something or someone? We reflected on individuals who deserve our attention but have not always earned a place in the collective cultural memory. For each evening, an artist, curator or researcher was invited by curators Michiel van Iersel and Radna Rumping to focus on a person who is important to them.
