Oudekerksplein has been the heart of De Wallen for centuries. In recent years, the square has changed considerably. This evening, several guests with close ties to the square spoke about these changes: Rob van Hulst , actor and Red Light District guide, talked about the history and peculiarities of the square. Mark Minkjan , social geographer, linked to red light districts in other European cities. Hugo van Heijningen , co-founder of Red Light Radio, told how the radio station came to the Red Light District five years ago. Mariska Majoor , founder of the Prostitution Information Centre (PIC) housed on the square since 1994, shared her experiences and vision. Leading the discussion were Arif Kornweitz and Michiel van Iersel, who jointly rent a space on the square at number 9.
