Broken mirrors were placed in several places in the Oude Kerk, like shooting stars from a forgotten universe, trimmed with museum cord by way of fallen heritage.

The mirror is a recurring subject in the 5 decades of Boezem's work. The metaphor of the mirror is related to the understanding of perception. It is like a representative of time and space, creating the illusion of reproducing the image seen in front of the mirror. The work in the Oude Kerk was a combination between a frozen performative act and an installation, in which the barrel vault painted in the Middle Ages is reflected. The metaphor of the fragments of the broken mirrors can be translated into the fragmentation of historical events and meanings, which are strongly present in the Oude Kerk.
